Workshops & Trainings

Does your organization or team need an in-depth workshop with actionable take-a-ways related to multiculturalism, mental health and diversity, equity and inclusion? Using our H.A.S.K. Approach ™ (Humility, Attitudes, Skills and Knowledge), we can offer speaking engagements on any of our core topics through a workshop style presentation customized and delivered with a high level of engagement!

Cultural humility workshops are geared toward non-profit organizations (K-12 School Districts, Higher Education and other non-profit organizations). Cultural humility will be introduced as a process to help build authentic relationships with employees and customers of different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. The workshop will also expose participants to historic and current cultural events. The purpose of the workshop is to increase multicultural awareness, knowledge, and skills in the competencies necessary to effectively work with and relate to ethnically and culturally diverse employees and customers. Participants will examine their own culture, attitudes, beliefs and internalized messages. Knowledge and skills in the area of multiculturalism will be explored and practiced. Additionally, participants will learn about a variety of topics including intersectionality, social justice and advocacy, implicit bias, cross-cultural communication, and microaggressions.

This workshop is designed for clinicians in training and current clinical practitioners (Medical doctors, Therapists, Counselors, Nurses and other Health Science Professionals). This workshop will focus on examining the unique worldviews of patients/clients of color, systemic barriers, and implicit biases that contribute to health disparities and social determinants of health. Additionally, the workshop will offer practical interventions to build rapport, trust and increase patient/client satisfaction and engagement.

This training is designed to support organization commitments to promoting and implementing diversity, equity and inclusion practices and initiatives. We work with organizations to incorporate IDEAH into their operations to increase employee and customer engagement, productivity and satisfaction. Cultural humility will be introduced as a process to help build authentic relationships with individuals of different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. This training will explore the fear/discomfort associated with connecting with someone of a different cultural/ethnic background. Additionally, participants will be asked to explore their culture, worldview, attitudes, beliefs and internalized messages as they contribute to how we show up in personal and professional settings. Finally, this training will include practical strategies to increase participate knowledge and skill.
